June Monthly Recap

June went by in a flash! It included a Jamaican vacation for a week with the best neighbor friends. I had 2 family sessions at the end of the month. And the beginning of the month was gardening and prepping/packing for vacation.

No June Blog Posts

I was on full vacay mode so there were no blog posts besides May’s recap. I will include more pictures in this post than normal (or necessary!).

Read

I am using Goodreads to track my reading, rate books and write some reviews. I’m proud of myself for pursuing fiction books this month. Also, I’m almost three quarters of the way to my goal with half the year left. Vacation really increased my reading this month.

Books Completed in June: 7 books

  • Chasing the Bright Side: Embrace Optimism, Activate Your Purpose, and Write Your Own Story – Jess Ekstrom
    • If there was a book that reflected my personal outlook on life, it would be this one. Full of optimism and silver linings and lessons learned.
  • Searching for Sylvie Lee – Jean Kwok
    • Huxley Public Library Book Club pick.
  • Beach Read – Emily Henry
    • Perfect audiobook to listen to on the flights to Jamaica. I loved this witty and fun romance.
  • A Simple Favor – Darcey Bell
    • I was nervous to read this “thriller” but it turned out not to be too much and actually left a little bit to be desired in the end.
  • The Singles Game – Lauren Weisberger
    • Interesting fiction romance book surrounding the professional tennis circuit. I listen to the audiobook.
  • Everything Happens for a Reason: And Other Lies I’ve Loved – Kate Bowler
    • I have listened to Kate’s Ted Talk which is what led me to read this book. It is a beautiful memoir from someone living with incurable cancer. I am now reading her newest book, The Preacher’s Wife.
  • The Princess Spy – Larry Loftis
    • This historical biography reads like historical fiction, with evidence and proof of everything that happened during Aline Griffith’s time in the OSS as a coder and field agent. I loved imagining Spain during this time period and comparing it to the time I spent in Spain.

YTD Total: 32 of 41 books

Watch

  • The Bachelorette – It’s that time… again.

Listen

I listen to a lot of podcasts, audiobooks, and music. Here are the highlights from the past month.

  • Rosecast | Bachelor Recaps with Rim and AB – Well, because it is a replacement of office water-cooler talk.
  • The Viall Files: The Bachelorette Recap | I ask myself the same question, “Is it necessary to listen to 2 bachelor recap podcasts?” The answer is no, it is not necessary, but I like both of them. If you like the Bachelor, let’s talk about it! Then maybe I don’t have to fill my time with 2 weekly podcasts.
  • Hip-Hop Yoga | Spotify Playlist

Learn

I love learning new things and am making space for more future learnings.

  • Reels Transition. I jumped into making short videos for Instagram Reels to highlight photography content. Check those out here.
  • How to pack for a resort beach vacation. I could have packed less casual outfits, but I’m happy with the amount of swim suits and cover ups I packed. I’m also happy with the group I spent time relaxing with on a beach in Jamaica.
  • I have 28,120 photos on my iPhone. That’s too many, but I don’t even know where to start with deleting some and organizing the others. Do you have a method to the madness?

How many photos do you have on your phone?

Let me know in the comments.
