November Monthly Recap

Grateful. Thankful. Gone in a flash. The first week of November allowed me to see some family and take an active break after the October busy photo season and before my marketing Cyber Monday busy season. I’m looking forward to December as a wrap up and planning month. A little more rest in the holiday season and a little more downtime to be creative or read or just… breathe.

Read

I am using Goodreads to track my reading, rate books and write some reviews. I was able to read a lot more this month especially with traveling at the beginning of the month – plane rides and downtime allowed for more reading.

Books Completed in November: 5 books

  • Anxious People – Fredrik Backman
    • Intrigued by how the story unfolded. Huxley Public Library Book Club: November
  • The Royals Next Door – Karina Halle
    • Really enjoyed this. Picked this up from the local book shop, Dog Eared Books.
  • How to Raise An Adult – Julie Lythcott-Haims
    • Don’t recommend
  • This is How I Lied – Heather Gudenkauf
    • Great mystery book. Westview Heights Ladies Book Club: 2nd Book
  • You Are a Badass at Making Money: Master the Mindset of Wealth – Jen Sincero
    • Don’t recommend (unless you are looking for a woo-woo finance pep talk)

YTD Total: 55 of 41 books

Watch

  • The Bachelorette
    • I think Bachelor fans need a break! I really like Michelle’s poise and class this season.
  • The Staircase – Netflix Docu-series
    • Adam and I are watching this together. I thought I knew a lot about the case, but seeing it in so much detail has been fascinating.
  • The Innocent Man – Netflix Docu-series (Another one!)
    • We started another series together! We were so proud of ourselves for finishing the last series. We aren’t typically show watchers or Netflix bingers.

Listen

I listen to a lot of podcasts, audiobooks, and music. Here are the highlights from the past month.

  • RED (Taylor’s Version) – Taylor Swift | Yay! So good!
  • The Rosecast | You know, because the Bachelorette is on.
  • 30 – ADELE | She’s back!

Learn

I love learning new things and am making space for more future learnings.

  • I visited my sisters in Tennessee. It was great to take a few days especially after my busy month of October and relax with my sisters in their environments. I also learned how much I enjoy solo time while being in a new city, whether that is editing at a new-to-me coffee shop or watching Netflix for a few hours by myself at the apartment.
  • TURO: Car Rental Service. I rented a car from an app similar to how I would rent a property on Vrbo. It was really well done and the owner was well versed in car rentals via the app. I would recommend it!
  • I tried NEW recipes. I tried a very fall/autumn recipe: Butternut Squash Pasta. It was alright. I learned I still loved trying something new and new cooking techniques even if I wouldn’t make the recipe again. I also tried making Pulled Beef in the InstaPot, AND I will always do pulled beef that way from here on out. It was tender and easily pulled apart.

When do you start decorating for Christmas?
